Benefits of 19+ Traineeship
- Traineeships are stepping stone for young people before being employed in a permanent role or before starting an Apprenticeship. They help young people to get ready for the work.
- Traineeships are flexible way of working with employers, adding to the content of Traineeships to meet the needs of the individual and the sector.
- At completion, the young person will be guaranteed a job interview if a role becomes available or an exit interview together with meaningful written feedback to help them secure an apprenticeship or employment with another employer.
- Traineeships are an ideal opportunity for young people, aged 19 to 24, who are motivated to get a job but lack the skills and experience that employers are looking for.
- Those who have been unsuccessful when applying for an apprenticeship or other job due to a lack of skills and experience are most likely be good candidates for a traineeship.
Funding / Payments
Employers are not required to pay you for participating in a traineeship, although they may help you with transportation and meals. The work placement is a fantastic way to obtain valuable professional experience.
You may be eligible for financial assistance from a training provider depending on your specific circumstances, such as travel and childcare fees, or if you require additional assistance due to a handicap. Your Jobcentre may be able to assist you financially if you are getting welfare benefits. The government will cover the price of training.
